Brazilian BelOMO Zenits

6 posts in this thread
Hello all,

I've been looking for a long time for these Brazilian examples, ever since our dear friend Luiz Paracampo told me about the story of BelOMO Zenits having bottom covers replaced with ones that say Made in Zona Franca De Manaus, Brazil, in order to escape some importation fees. Finally found a few good examples and even a Brazilian manual! So far the only ones I have found with such replaced bottoms are 12Pro and 12XSL, I did not see any others.. I wonder what other models have this.

here are some photos:

No mention of Made in Belarus anywhere.

Best regards,
Vlad
What does lens say "Made in..."?

Best regards,
Juhani
Does not say anything, just factory logo (Jupiter Valdai).

Cheers
There were at least five ZENIT SLR cameras that were made by SEAGULL in China. Perhaps there were others. From what I've been able to determine, the target market was mainly South America -- especially the Brazil & Argentina area. You can see what I have at:

If anyone has anything to add, please let me know. I have basically no information on the Zenit DF300NT.
DF-300 looks very familiar Wink
