Do you see a pattern? I am 101% sure 88.853 was NOT made in 1990!
But what does 37 and 88 in the middle mean?

It's pleasure to deal with you! That's why I asked you to share the information about numbers you have. It seems to mee, that 37 and 88 mean particular batch number, and not the total amount of cameras issued ...
Let's wait for few more numbers, ok?

A quick question about this one... Does the flash detach? I seem to have bought a slightly different version of it, it does not have the flash socket but a rewind knob instead... from the picture I guess it seems like the flash socket is detachable.. just making sure I got the same camera...

Shoe is detachable, and mounts on side with one screw in the middle, covers rewind crank. So congrats, which serial?

Finally got my Elikon! Serial #9088314, added to Wiki. So yes Juhani - 90 88 314, there is a pattern.

Thanks! No, the shoe is missing unfortunately . Oh well I'm happy I got the camera at the least.. these are very scarce..
