Hi Luiz,

Thanks lots for you help !

Just received a cheap non working Leningrad.

It needed vertical rangefinder adjustment (horizontal was OK)
Yesterday I adjusted it (by the three screws) - I needed to remove top plate. Alas, now horizontal it's off :(
Little screw on the front plate look thiny - I'm reluctant to pick up my screedriver...

If you want a reliable rangefinder it will be needed to do a general refurbishment.

you need to remove completely the RF

to do so, in na accurate manner you need first to remove the slow speed gear train.

first of all remove the lens! (1)

set the speed to "B" and carefully remove the gears

to do so, loose the three screws of the first Picture.

Remove the screw 2!

Place a thin screw driver in the hole 2!
0r a needle -to avoid dephasing the gerar positions.

Operational Principle.
To understand the operation is a need for a perfect repair.
the following figure shows the image formation on the Leningrad rangedinder

At the internal curved surface one can see the limiting frames
Contrary to most ragefinders the central image is fixed while the surrounding one moves according to the lens position (focus)
