Hi,

today is great day, while very interesting camera have arrived from local post office SmileSmileSmile Seems to be an earliest version of regular Smena-Symbol. The particular camera comes with gray top plate (and bottom plate either) and initial design of T-43 lens. I have found images of two prototype Symbol cameras with identical T-43 lenses in Sovetskoe foto. Serial number is #710557 ...

Congrats Aidas! Interesting piece! Would really appreciate it if you could also add it to Wiki, otherwise it'll get lost here in forums!

Thanks!

Hi,

sorry to disappoint you, guys, but particular camera (not the whole factory, as Michel said ... SmileSmileSmile) was bought on Molotok at price of 1.200 russian roubles. So, I'm using the same sources to complete my collection, as you do ... Big smileBig smileBig smile

Hi,

early mentioned "camera's tree" is growing up again ... Big smileBig smileBig smile. Very successful mission of collectors from Finland-Lithuania (or Juhani-Aidas ...Smile) allows us to introduce you with two more versions of earliest regular Smena Symbol.

So, at least 3 versions of gray Smena-Symbol are known to exist right now:

1. An earliest so far known camera with internal accessory shoe and round viewfinder's window (cameras known: #710129 (SovietCams) and #710133 (Juhani's coll.));
2. the 2nd early Symbol with external accessory shoe already (look at the camera #710557 above). Rectangular finder's window;
3. The latest known gray Symbol with regular lens design already (camera known: #710640, SovietCams).
