Hello All,

I've been contacted quite a few times over the last few years inquiring about how to buy our 2 Year Anniversary FED-2 that was released in limited quantities. Our forum member Colin (urban-wombat) had really made me start thinking about possibility of making another batch.

I wanted to test the waters to see if anyone (and how many people) would be interested in purchasing one if we do a 5 Year special edition.

Last time the camera cost us 115EUR + 30EUR for special box, I am not sure what the prices are going to be now but probably along those lines.

In terms of what it would be, I was maybe thinking late Zorki-1 or late FED-1 with black wood covering and reflective chrome with USSRPhoto.com 5th Anniversary design on top.

Any thoughts, interest, would love to hear it! Please reply if you think you would want one!

Thanks,
Vlad

I also reached out to the person who made these before to see if it's still feasible to make these if we decide, I'll keep you informed on his reply.

Hello Vlad

It would be a good idea to release a new batch of UssrPhoto cameras for the 5 year anniversary. But please let it be a Zorki, a Zorki 1 or even a Zorki 4. I personaly don't like FED's so much ... For the design it would be nice to have an other black one, but with not so much other different colors if it's possible. I will be happy to order one!

Best wishes - Guido

Good news! Count me too, Vlad!
A should prefer a Fed 1, but a Zorki 1 will be perfect too. Or a Kiev...

Amitiés. Jacques.
PS: in some years, perhaps we will find 3 or 4 year anniversary cameras made by forgers? Smile

I don't mind Kiev either, I can ask about Kiev as well, but I noticed he never works on them.. Zorki would probably be the his answer but it doesn't hurt to ask.

My two cents worth ( and how about that from someone who has only made 13 postings)

One of the older style Zorkie's would be fantastic... Then Kiev would also be very nice ...but WITHOUT that ugly exposure meter.

Good news - I've received a response from the person who can make these cameras, he can make them so far we just talked about Zorki-1 cameras. He needs us to provide him with some kind of general drawings, I'll design something soon and post it here for approval. A note about chrome - he is out of shiny silver chrome, but he can do glossy nickel plating, which I think would be pretty cool. I asked him about Kievs, let's see what he says. I wonder if it's even possible to do wood covering on a Kiev...

Vlad As for myself I'm 50% sold on the concept .

The camera and lens type get the tick of approval.

Red lettering Black top and shiny knobs.. excellent..

I'm not sure about the black laminated wood just doesn't fit somehow!

Maybe leather in the same red toning as the lettering.

I thought black wood would be something different, last camera had a red painted body, so I'd like to do something different. I don't think they do leather on these because it's usually painted vulcanite or the wood. I have a few wood-covered cameras from this guy, they are really good quality and I thought lacquered black wood (piano-like finish) may actually be interesting. I'm open for suggestions though.. We can do dark red wood, is that any better? Smile Or we can have a choice of wood or painted vulcanite, but then if they're all different it's not as cool Smile. What do you guys think?

Also the mock up that I did has a very high contrast between body and top colors, I think it'll be pretty close in reality and maybe much glossier on the body, I'll have to discuss it with the maker.

Hello guys,
I allow me my "twopence" here Smile.
I find the wooden finish very fine, but it must be in more contrast with the top plate.
The wooden cover must not be black or too dark, it must be brighter (my opinion).

Regards, Alexander
