Initially the Kiev-35AM camera was pronounced in 1987 as the conceptual Kiev Arsenal camera. The plant promised to release mass-market Kiev-35AM camera as soon. The same promises came in 1988 and 1989 again, etc. The truth is, this camera was never mass-produced and only small quantities are known today.
Compact 35mm, front cover folds down to open camera. Successor to the Kiev-35A, with new design. Speeds: 2s-1/500s. No hot shoe, flash sync is via two contacts on upper left side of body. Self timer. Selected speed indicated by LED in finder. Film speed settings: 22-700 GOST / 15-30 DIN. MC Korsar 2.8/35 mm lens [3].
N.B Although it bears the Arsenal logo I was informed by the present director of Arsenal that this camera was produced by a satelite factory in Uman, Ukraine, and was a bit of an embarrasment as faulty materials were used and there were many problems with production. When I mention this camera at Arsenal everybody laughs.
