Hello guys!

I found recently an early 50's orion (before this one I though they didn't exist). The numbers seem to have the same shape as on the sovietcam picture. But I can't find any other details that could make him different from a usual Orion-15. Do you think it's genuine? Any clue about distinctive parts ? does someone have one to compare?

thanks !
Cyril

Hello Jacques, thank your for your answer,

Yes! It is the number 5100004, but still a collector item as it is maybe the first LTM orion :) :) By the way recently I also saw the 5200007.
As a particularity the seller also told this version has a 8 or 10 (Idont remember :( ) blades diaphragm in spite of 6 on usual orions.

Wait and see if I am crazy anough to give such money.... ;)

Amitiés,
Cyril

To be more positive...
When having a look at Sovietcams, it seems that the "3" (flat top) and 4 (open) are special features for the early Orions...
But sure, you had already seen that.

Note too that the first Orion (of production) seems the 5100001 in bayonet mount. Your LTM Orion cannot have the same number, of course. That said, it seems genuine...

Hello Cyril,

If the lens is original, it is an exceptional lucky find.
But at this price, all depends on your degree of madness!
We are all the same...

Amitiés. Jacques.

Hello everyone !

I finally get some hollydays to buy this pretty lens. But the owner is now asking $1500 for it! I don't know should I buy or not... On one hand this lense is unique but on the other hand he asks for 10 time the price of a usual orion... What do you think of it?

Hello everyone!
Thanks for your comments! I didn't get it yet... So for the moment I'll post only a picture without the whole serial number.

If it's genuine, sure it's a nice find. With such an early serial, maybe it's topogon lenses

Certainly, it's a very good find, Cyril.
The Orions from the early 1950s seem ultra rare:

Perhaps you coud post a photo of the beauty ring?

Amitiés. Jacques.
